This was definitely one of my favorite birds on this trip. I have previously seen the White-tailed Tropicbird while on Grand Cayman Island, from a great distance, and just love how these birds gracefully fly, with their long tail feathers streaming behind. We saw this species in a couple of locations, as they nested in the high, steep cliffs at the edges of several islands we visited. Because their nesting area is quite hard to access, they often had to make half a dozen or more approaches, before they were finally able to land. This was taken during a panga ride along the shore of Genovesa Island, as we were getting red to go ashore.
